Call from Yamaha about 2011s

So when everyone sees a post about a sled, supposedly stock, the same as yours, run sooooo much better, does that make you feel better, or worse. I know it would make me sick !!!! And I do own an Apex. !!! And it runs well for an 07. Why does it have to take so Long for Yamaha to make corrections. They knew the 2011 Apex was running lean the very first time Dynotech dynoed it, and asked them to keep it quiet. If I owned an 2011 Apex, I would be ticked off big time. Does Yamaha not run these things on a dyno ???? WTF !!!!! It,s bad enough to have a problem, but how about providing a timely fix.
In this day and age with data transfer capabilities, there shouldn,t be ANY EXCUSES .Waiting a year at a time for each fix is UNACCEPTABLE .

The dyno claim is underwraps so much that alot of people dont know whether to believe it or not. There are alot of miss-informed people out there and without them saying anything too nothing will change. I will definently know whether or not Im going to get an increase with this pcv as I had my clutch set up on a fine line by turk and if im out alot it'll be obvious why.

By the end of the year my '11 felt as strong as my 07 with a complete list of mods so for stock i was happy. The only thing that bugged me was on a -30c day and sometimes even warmer that if it was sitting outside overnight it would not start. Dealer checked it out and battery and charging system was fine. My name was put on a list they were sending to Yamaha and havent heard since. Nothing more embarassing starting a 15,000 dollar machine under an orange tarp with two hair dryers blowing under the hood and a propane heater to get it going an hour later.

At least Yamaha couldve gave me a blue tarp to help start it lol

not to mention even starting in my garage at -10c when the heat isnt on it takes two tries to get it going. Even with cycling the key back and forth twice. Its an issue, although not very big but very annoying

should never be an issue with a brand new sled PERIOD! :o|

might be why when they had the teaser vids out for the '11s it was hidden in a trailer and already running. didnt want to start it in front of the camera LOL

nope so just added a pcv out of my own pocket. interesting to see if they tuned the '12s to fix this. time will tell
Last I heard from Yamaha the 12's have the exact same tune as the 11's.

That,s NOT a surprise. Doesn,t each fix take 6 years to be corrected ? They,re probably still working on the premature hyfax wear, and trying to get the handle bar warmers to work properly. LOL

Doesn't surprise me....

Mad russian, i pmed you. I installed the pcv and according to the map there really is not much changed except at top end. But whats interesting is alot of fuel is taken away at startup. If anyone would like to talk about these maps pm me as I would like to see some other set ups.

I was told today that the 3 local head techs were heading to a conference to discuss this problem and how to rectify it. Bottom line, there is a problem with startup and it is now officially recognized but it took till winter lol. Madrussian read your pm, Id like to see if your map is similar in areas.

I was told by allen ulmer that they(2011's) are too rich at start up, and too lean everywhere else. The pc-v should fix this. We will see this winter
