i have a 2 inch rox riser on my apex and no matter how tight i tighten the bolt it still isnt completely tight. its tight enough that it stays tight when im cruising but if im standing and pull up on the bars my strenghth actually makes the riser spin inside the stock riser and the bars come forward. i hope you can understand what i am trying to say. where the bars are mounted to the riser is fine that doesnt spin at all. its where the riser bolts to the stock riser. Anyone have this problem or any ideas how to fix it. I cant ride like this if i gonna pull up on the bars and they are gonna move every time. thanks

I have never had this problem. This is my 3rd year riding with my 2" rox riser. You may want to double check your install..

Maybe wrap the risers with some electrical tape to create a tighter fit?

WOW.....interesting
I have often worried about it but never had a problem 3 years on 2" Rox and a Mnt. sled....A LOT of reefing! I would think once you've slipped them a couple times the grooves are smooth and there is nothing to hold on to/grip on? Either score/knurle the riser and stock riser base or change to another style....I bet this will continue to be a problem. I've tried tape before on other applications and it doesn't last long. Can you get to it with a drill....drill a small hole through each side and put a set screw through both risers would be my ditch effort to stop it from spinning?

so far it has slipped on me twice. the only thing i can think of is i need to get a better grip on the two bolts closer to the front ofthe sled but they can only be tightened with an open end wrenc h because there is not enough room under there to fit the closed end onto the bolt. the grooves in the riser and stock riser bar are very very small to begin with..

Try some stips of screen(alluminum door screen) material sandwitched in the clamp.
Have you personally tried this method or no? has it worked?Sno-Xr said:Try some stips of screen(alluminum door screen) material sandwitched in the clamp.

I havent, but it was going to be my next step when having the same issue with a powermadd riser. But one more attempt at tightening the bolts on the riser proved fatal!! It broke lol
I picked up a 3 1/2" Rox from Rich motorsports and havent had the problem.

do you remember the rox riser having big teeth in it or no. my sleds not here and i dont remember how big the teeth are in the riser and the stock riser where they bolt together.

No, I dont believe the Rox has teeth. Your handle bars have splines and the Yamaha mount may have small splines also. But Im 95% sure there are no splines on the Rox lower mount.

Also, If you try anything like the screen, do not wrap it completely around the mount, just put a small piece(1/4 of the circumfrence) at the top or bottom of the halfcircle clamps. Or one top and bottom.
My sled is up north so i cant work on it until the next time i go up. What is the difference in length from the regular apex and the mountain apex bar riser? if i cant get it to hold im gonna have to buy another riser but i want to go with a all one piece riser this time. my riser height(stock gt plus 2"rox ) is perfect height so how tall of a one piece riser could i fit with stock cables? thanks
Cant believe no one else has had this problem. im glad no one else has but it sucks for me. anybody?
Give Rox a call and see what they offer for help.

Make sure the guide pin on the bars is not in the clamp area and you are actually clamping to the bars.
