I have decided that I am going to get studboy carbides. My question to the group is should I purchase shapers or deuce bars? Also, what is the best length? I will have 108 studs up the middle as well. not looking to be talked into another brand. :-o

If you have darting issues, go with the Deuce bars, if not, opt for the Shapers.

Opt for the longer length of carbides = more bite

i know about bergstrom. i asked that the members refrain from other suggestions. if i did not need studs this year i would get the bergstroms. :o|

If you go with the Duece bars and they "stick" too much you could try 1 shaper and 1 duce bar.

I went with 1 of each on my 08 Nytro. Also used this on my 06 Apex GT.
2 Duece bars wouldn't let me move on hard ice or hard ground trying to drive onto my trailer.
I had no studs though.
It would also drag a little at road crossings.
Better when the edges wore a little.

The dual bars also will pack a little snow/ice/dirt between the carbides.
The Duece bars are better than the Doolys used to be.
If the front of the bar seems to catch on things like RR tracks grind the front a bit or make sure you have a shim in the stock skis.

6 inch Duece or the 7.5 inch Shaper.

The deuce bars are made just like the shaper bars. I have 6000 miles on my 6" deuce bars. Any way you go, make sure you shim the rear of the skis. The stock skis tend to push harder on the front of the ski. When you shim the rear, they tend to put a more equal pressure on the whole ski.
