I was thumbing though the manual for my dad's 07 Vector GT the other day and I noticed that for the mountain sleds they talk about a "Carburetor Coolant Shut-off Lever".
We quite often ride in the spring when the temps are above 0°C and the manual suggest you shut the carb heaters off at that temperature.
Has anyone installed the valve on non mountain sled and is there any reason to?

No reason to. Your Dads sled has an electricaly operated de-icer system in the carbs.

Ah ok that's makes sense. I don't have the sled near by right now or I would have checked it out myself.
Thanks.
Thanks.

that's a good question and i don't know why it's only on the mountain sleds unless they're concerned about fuel boiling in the carbs at higher elevations. even though it has the electric heaters it well may have the coolant heated setup i know my brothers 06 vector does. i guess they use the electric till the coolant gets warm enough then turn the electric off.

I've always thought about installing shut offs in my 05 Vector lines. But that's as far as I've ever got....thinking about it.
I recall SkiDoo's having shut offs for their carb heaters in the past. If the temp got to +20F or something like that, Doo said you could turn them off and that would improve gas mileage.
MAYBE you'd gas a few MPG's by not running them in warmer weather, but it's probably not worth the risk of a frozen carb..resulting in a burn down (?) to save a few MPG's.
