Owners manual doesn't say anything about changing chain case oil.
Have a 2006 Rage and would like change it at the 500 mile engine oil change. Is there a drain plug on case. How often after that.

On the RX-1, you reach up under the Throttle-side, in the tunnel, and there is a bolt you can remove to drain the oil. The bolt is not on the under-side of the case, it is in the lower, back-side. Buy a quart of shaft-drive yamalube to replenish the case.

When you're draining it, its a good idea to flush it out with something really LIGHT, otherwise there will still be filings in the bottom of the case.
I change mine before every season.
