The drain screw is accesable on inside of the tunnel, or to put it differantly the chaincase has a threaded drainhole on the backside bottom and the tunnel has a hole to accomidate.
Hope that made sense

There is a drainplug on the inside of the tunnel as stated, but personally I like to get the cover off the case at least once a year just to check up on everything and clean everything up good. With these dipsticks not having magnets on them anymore, metal fragments can easily be left behind when draining the case with just the plug. I like to get in there and wipe everything down good with a rag. Good time to check chain, gear, and bearing condition as well. Fill her back up with a nice cool drink of a good synthetic 75W-90.
whats involved in yanking the cover?

Pulling the P-brake caliper, hydraulic brake caliper, brake disk, and unhooking the reverse linkage. Then just pull the cover bolts.
