Anyone know where the chain case oil fill and drain plug are ? Had all the plastics off and did not see them. Did not have the muffler off yet, unless it's hiding them. Pics would be nice.

Manual says to remove the exhaust to access the fill. Don't remember where the drain was but I'll go check if you have a few minutes.
I have the manual on owners manual on line, will be back in a few with answer. Unless someone has the answer now!

Think you need to loosen all the bolts on chain case.

To remove oil must remove 11 cover screws and drain into pan.
Oil is added through the shift actuator, remove three screws, disconnect electrical connector and fill to center mark on the sight glass.
The owners manual has pictures showing the Shift Actuator and Electrical Connector.

The fact that there was no chain case drain was brought up at the dealer meeting in Feb when the Viper was 1sr shown. Yamaha said they would look into it but that it was probably too late to add one.

I do the same, learned with automatic transmissions that much grit and fine metal at bottom of housing/pan. Usually much less at subsequent cleanings. Not familiar with Apex chain so don't know what to expect.
