I know I've read it here before, but I can't find the post on chaincase oil vis.
I know there are different options, But I'm concerned because of some of the chain case problems others have had. I mostly just run my 06 Attak fast in short spurts. (I've seen 121 on speedo on one occation). I'm planning to put a woopping
on a buddy of mine who has a Apex and may need to hammer it for a long pull to take him.
Again my question: What is the best oil and what viscosity.

Any oil, synthetic or not, should be fine. An advantage of synthetic though, is better low temperature flow. For short bursts, a fairly light oil would offer the least resistance - I've heard of some people using ATF without problems, but I would limit use of this to drag sleds. For long distance (=high temperatures), you really want a fairly heavy oil though (say 80+ with no ceiling regarding how heavy).

Hi, I like to run Mobil 1 in the 75w90 type. Has worked well over the years and is priced right at about $8.00 for a quart! That is a few changes between purchases. Changing it regularly, at least once during the season and again at the end is part of my maintainance program.
Good luck to you and regards, Chuck aka michmobiler
