drop kicking the Fox from my sled was night and day.
care to be more specific?

What did you like? Dislike? Interested minds want to know..

replaced floats with some Ohlins that came for "Nytro"...they came undersprung and over valved.
The floats just felt dead to me, i couldn't balance the sled or active feedback.

Some folks love their floats - not trying to start and arguement. if they had a method of giving a more consistent rate they would be perfect.....they can't IMHO

After putting 800 miles on the dealers base model loaner last winter, I traded my revalved floats even up for a set of gytr's. Found it to be a better handling machine than my RTX. No regrets.

How different are the gytr's vs the stock ones on a 09 xtx? or are they the same? Thanks

I think they are the same not fo show.

ever see air shocks on a MX bike or race car ? ? baja truck ! shall i continue ?
My shock guy says the same for triple rate springs. I havent tried the thriple rates, so I cant judge, but his opinion has some merit. Havent seen them on MX bikes, race cars or Baja trucks/buggies.

Snicks, if you come to the TY ride next week, we can swap and see if you like the GYTR's.

I drive an Attak GT, so is a different machine altogether. I love my float II's and I'd never go back. Nothing handles the big bumps as well or rides nearly as smooth. IMHO, Floats are the real deal. Float II's are even better. My Attak has never cornered so well through big bumps than it does now with the Float II's. I was coming off of the stock GTYR's FYI, and I'd never go back.

Arteeex has a Nytro RTX, and not trying to speak for him, but he seems to like his Float II's a lot.

LukeSJU has an Nytro RTX with Float Evols and those are the only shocks I like better than my Float II's. Someday I'll send my Float II's off to Fox for the conversion.......

I had my Float's changed to Float Evols in Brainerd, MN about 3 hrs and I had them back!

I see Schmidt bros powersports rebuilds them to not be so stiff. They said you'll be able to push down on front bumper and it will move! They recognize the fact that the floats feel "sticky". $150. I found a Guy that would trade his gytr's off his 09 xtx. He just had them rebuilt and has some triple spring from hygear suspension on the shocks. Should I try the $150 rebuild, or take him up on the offer? I'd hate to spend the $ if it's a waste. Thanks for the help.

I would do the trade, or send them Fox and have them converted into Float X or evol.

If he'll trade you even-up, thats probably the best way to go for trail riding. If you are going to go and do some jumping or pounding moguls. Turn them into Float X. The Float X on the RTX SE ride really nice, they are awesome shocks even with the factory valving and everything.

Hey thanks for the help.

Why do you think he wants to trade?? My guess he's not all that happy with the GYTRs either. The GYTRs are not very forgiving either, and will bottom easily if you soften the compression to absorb small trail chop.
They need to have a High speed and a low speed compression adjustment to tune out the small stuff but still be able to handle the large moguls.

Well I traded with a guy that has a 09 XTX. He just had them rebuilt, and just installed the triple rate spring kit from hygear suspension. Wow! What a difference. I put 60 miles on the shocks and they are great. I can corner better and faster. It hits the small bumps just like it should. I launched it a couple times, and it never bottomed out. Very happy.
