I did some clutching changes etc on my stock 2003 RX1 Mountain motor, and changed the needle settings and main jets to what they should be for my area (went from 135 to 130 main and needles up 1 clip position to #2 spot, washer on top, one below)
It was a pig to try and start, finally put my hand over each carb to get it to fire, and now it idles a bit high, and when you touch the throttle, it wants to pop and backfired once. I left the air screws alone, stock setting. It also seems like the mag side cylinder runs the worst, spits back a little. Is there anything I could have done wrong putting the bowls on, needles?
I also put on a 2" riser block, but cable seems fine.
