I was thinking about putting a new set of handle bars on my 08 Fx Nytro. Just wondering how big of a job it is to do. What about getting the grips off how do I go about doing that.
I was looking at the RSI Back Country bend. Anyone have any experience with these?

Not a big deal if you do not go above a 2" rise. I am in process of changing mine. I removed he stock 3" rise back country bars. Using a 2" rise bar with RSI 3" riser. New RSI handwarmers and grips.
You said you where getting back country handle bars. If you have a std Nyto FX. Those bars are same as your stockers.

I have the RTX, so not sure if it is the same bars or not as on the std, but would imagine so. I am not at home now so i will check when I get there.
So you have to use new grips as well? I was thinking about it after my post and could not think how I would get the stock ones off. So it makes sense.

You have RTX. They have the straight race style bars. Your sled also has the pivot , allows you to move bars forward and back. Yes the back country bars you spoke of would increase your height. Yes. changed my grips and warmers. The stock grips are riveted and glued, not easy remove. I have back country bars of my sled. They have grips with wires
on them. Just need to cut, splice wires ionto your sled.

Here is my RSI set up. I have the adaptor plate, 2 inch riser, back country bars. All said and done it is 2.5" higher than stock and I never had to add any cable extentions.

Well I personaly didn't like the look of the stock XTX bars and they were a little low for me. The whole job of replacing the bars was fairly easy. I did not bother re-using my old grips. I went with RSI's heater elements and there grips. All the Yamaha brake and throtle assembly split in two pieces so you can add them after your bars are installed and where you like them. If you email the guy's at RSI and tell them what you would like to see all said and done, they will sugest everything you need to get the job done.

I got the RSI Tapered Aluminum Race Bend bars, Pivot, and ROX adjustable riser. Installed the RSI ODI 8" grips (could've used the 7", shaved almost an 1" off) and RSI heater elements as well. I just cut the stock grips off and heater elements with a box knife, wiring was the only part that kinda sucked, especially when one of solders broke out riding one day.
Great stuff although the aluminum bars sure don't help with handwarmer issues and the grips seemed to wear out pretty fast..grips will probably last about half way more through the season, they are pretty worn out now and balding. Probably put the Yamaheaters when I replace the grips.
