On February 11th, 2016 I will be riding in the Valentines Day 500 mile challenge. It is a one day, 500 mile event to raise money to help families pay for cancer treatment and/or travel and lodging for their cancer treatment. It is an event sponsored by Nick Keller and his Snowball Cancer Charity organization. As many of you know, Nick is the one that rode "Mary Jane", his 2010 Vector to 99,956 miles as part of his cancer fund raising before he parked the sled for good. I rode in this event last year and despite the -26F temps at the time we started out, we met our goal by riding 506.1 miles that day. I am going to continue to ride each year in memory of my father and others who have battled cancer and lost or those that are currently battling.

The event is now a little more than a week away, if you are able please donate to this cause as it helps people and families currently undergoing cancer treatment by assisting them in paying for travel, lodging, food and medical bills.
Many people decide not to get treatment because it puts their families in a financial hardship. These are the people that need the assistance most.
Thank you!

Post ride update. We left Wakefield at 7 a.m. yesterday and finished our ride at 12:30 a.m. after logging 517 miles total in a total time of 17.5hrs.
total dollars donated for the ride are yet to be published however, I would not be surprised if we passed up the $20,000 goal by a mile.
All told there were 24 riders made up of two Polaris, three Ski Doo, two AC and the rest 4-stroke Yamaha's from Nytro's to Apex's to Ventures and Vipers.
15 riders finished the full 500+ miles. It was a great event with a lot of money raised and new riding friends gained. I encourage you to look up Nick Keller the charity founder anytime you are in the Ironwood MI area. He is always welcoming riders to log miles with him each day and he is a hell of a guy to boot!
