I used some 14$ ATV handle bars. I had to make them a tad wider (to fit the thumb throttle, handguards, and kill sw. block), using one of the 5 sets of bent bars I have in my shop, I cut two 1.5" pieces, and welded them to each side of my new bars.
It ended up being about a 2-2.5" rise, and 3" wider. I am just under 6', and can now stand right up, also, I really like the feel of a wider bar. - MUCH less steering effort.
I had to take off most of the body plastic, and re-route some wiring, they actually have alot of "slack" in them. Any more rise would require a throttle extension, and brake line ext. as well. This was just perfect. As you can see, I routed the throttle cable UNDER the bars.
I used ALOT of RTV sealant to re-glue my warmers, seems to work fine.
I could have used some $$ renthal bars, but I am not equipped to alum. weld, also I hear the heat loss is worse with alum. bars.
