Don't know if anyone else has had the recall problem but I just encountered it this past weekend. I called a dealer friend who told me that there were no real problems from what they saw and to just check my a-arms. so I just grabbed them and shook them, they seemed tight. Out riding this past weekend and the ski looked wierd. Got off the sled and the top right a-arm was hanging down because the bolt backed out. Thought i was screwed and lost the nut but thanks to the help of a few friends out there with me, we got it back in. The nut is welded on, we got the bushing pushed back in and tightened down. A guy stopped and had a ratchet also, so that helped a ton. I will probably back them out and put thread loc on it now.
For those who didn't know like me, if you take the 3 screws out of the black plastic nose piece or bumper it will get you enough room and a better view to get a socket on it. They are through bolts and a welded nut on the other side. Good luck!

This has been a well documented problem. There is a burr from the factory that brakes loose under certain conditions causing the right A-Arm bolt to back out and fall out in some case. The fix is to take the bolt out and apply red loctite and retorque.
Most vin#'s affected have been receiving recall letters.

I know that it is a recall but didnt know anyone that was actually effected by it. What is the torque they are to be torqued to? Im just saying that a friend who is a mechanic at one of the largest dealers in the midwest told me that it wasn't a big deal and they haven't seen any problems from it. So I called and gave him a piece of my mind, in the nicest mean way possible.

I hear ya. My dealer was in the dark on this to. I brought it to there attention after guys posted it on this site. Still don't think the dealer believed me but (2) days later I got a service bulletin from Yami. Not sure on the torque...

Upper right bolt that connects arm to sub-frame. Recall was a month ago now.

do you have to pull the bolt all the way out or can you get to the nut and put the loctite in the nut? The only reason I am asking is that I couldn't get the bolt all the way our without taking the front end off but I could loosen it plenty.

Take off your nose cone with a large phillips screw driver and the 12mm upper bolts on your bumper, loosen the lower bumper bolts and swing it all out of your way. Completely remove the 14mm upper arm bolts, loctite and reinstall. The nut is fixed in the sub-frame. This is the simplest method. The upper arm has no pressure while on the ground, so there is no need to raise the sled when doing this. While your there and have the tools out, move your stabilizer bolts to the front hole towards your ski tips to redece the amount of body roll in corners. Hope this helps.

I never said I totally missed it but there are many recalls that seem to not effect anyone and more of a just in case. This one effected me. Plus, some people work long hours, have many things to do outside of work and are just lucky to get on the sled sometimes, let alone read every post from start to finish and be on this website all the time. I made a phone call to a friend, much easier, and just got a chance to check out this website the last few days. Any other questions you have for me?

Oh, an I didn't buy the sled new but from a friend that contacted me about this. No dealer I would trust to bring this to sled to less than an hour away either.
