I am driving a Nytro RTX; just rebuilt both rear shocks and had HyGear do the sport X package to my floats-love it-. I noticed that the skid felt alot harder, or at least more uncomfortable than I remembered. Probably due to the fact that the front is so good now.... and I notice it in the skid more now. I found the excel sheets on the forum and think that I found some pretty good starting points; my problem is alot more basic. I can not figure out the fast compression-slow compression clickers. The regular head clicker turns and clicks fine, but the nut (think that it is the fast compression) just turns without clicking and actually moves the flat head clicker adjustment with it. I dont want to leave the nut loose in case I misunderstood the directions and cause damage to the shock- I just had a freak accident and had to replace the res.... thankfully I found a spare because a new shock is $500. Any help is appreciated. Like I said, pretty basic.
The center flat portion is the low speed adjuster. the hex head adjusts high speed. there are about 22 clicks of adjustment with the low speed side. but the high speed side does not have any clicks that side has three turns so you have to keep track of the amount you turn them. And the low speed does turn with the high speed but does not change that setting. If you have any questions Ross at hygear would definitly help you though them.

Thank you, I was hoping that was the case; Just didn't want the thing to back off all the way and ruin the shock, It's been one of those years. It just stays where you leave it loose? How many turns does someone usually run... 205 lbs, everything is set to grims settings on the spreadsheet that is circulating on the website.
Zackdebadts, everyone is different. I would start at middle settings on both low speed & high speed and don't forget the rebound settings, and play with them. Go a little at a time. And as it has been said on this site before write the changes down, so you know where you are. It is not a quick thing to dial your sled in, it could take all season to get the ride and handling that you want. Like i said before if you get messed up give Ross a call he can get you going in the right direction . just take your time and have fun with it .

Do you have the owner's manual? It has good pics on what adjustments do what, and what direction to turn them.
If you don't , you can download the manual from Yamaha's website.
