I just picked up my 07 Apex GT.
I just wanted to get a few HONEST opinions on some different clutch setups and what kind of performance increase I could expect.
i.e. top end now vs. before.
Right now I'm unstudded(subject to change)
I just semi retired my 00' Tcat (wasn't fast enough
Thanks,
Mike

Clutch kit will make it faster from 0-100 mph,but no gain on top end.If you want to see the benefit of the clutch kit you have to be studded,or it will spin like crazy. If you want to gain top end change your track for a 1" full clipped. Also i would strongly suggest you change your 24 top gear for a 23.Stronger acceleration with no top end lost.

I have a Bender clutch kit, but most guys here use Ulmers, who is an advertiser, and a great resource for everybody here.
Honestly, it's hard to beat the stock clutching, but I did notice a pretty big difference midrange. It worked well out of the box, and was easy to install, but you would undoubtedly want to make tweaks to it after you get to understand how th eadjustments effect performance. An aftermarket kit will allow you to tailor your sled to your riding style, but don't expect miracles.... Yamaha's stock setup is darn good out of the box.

I installed a Hartman clutch kit on my 2006 attak. It included team secondary roller clutch and Dalton primary set up. It works awesome. I rode yesterday, very impressed. Alot more midrange pull than stock and not trying to spin the track off on take off. Total kit was 600.00

So I am to believe that 51% agree that the 23 tooth gear is better than the 24 for a stock 06 Apex GT for all around riding? Thank you.

Is the roller easy to adjust?

Ride and rice. I would say that 90% of the people here agree that the 23 works great with no top end loss. If you stick to short runs you could probably go even lower. For an Apex 170 hp and below the 23/38 is a good setup.

You could also try calling Justin at Full Power Performance. He was the guy behind all the original Bender Racing developments for over the past decade.
He improved alot of things and sells under his own name now. Also is an encylopedia of tuning knowledge...
