2013 Nytro XTX 1.75
I know this topic has been pounded to death but am looking to install a clutch kit on my 2013 Nytro 1.75 XTX.
I have read just about everything on this site regarding clutching and am leaning towards Schmidt Brothers Stage II. Looking for real world side by side comparison between stock clutching and aftermarket on the 1.75 XTX track only.

Does anyone run this kit on the 1.75 XTX what are the advantages and disadvantages of the kit? Performance on and off trail back-shifting etc? My concern is that I don't want to install the kit and be disappointing and have go back to stock wasting 400+.

On bottom all the way to 85 the sled stock is really hard to beat. I have seen 100 on the speedometer a couple of times, but 98 just about ties it up. I would really like to gain in mid-range and grab a couple more MPH on top end if possible but may be limited due to the track and gearing.

I know the kit lowers your RPM engagement but what else does the kit do? Will the 400 bucks be worth the investment or should I just leave it stock and order a tune up kit for the clutch?

Will the kit be OMG noticeable is I guess what I'm asking? Thanks!

I have the SB stage 1 kit, air box breather kit, block off, shims, skid parts, all great products, add the secondary kit and could only be better. My experience is the SB primary kit changes the spring and diameters of the rollers, I take off now at 2800rpm, smooth roll on starts, no top end (104mph) penalty. The air breather 1" inserts (7x) do feed cool air from under headlight at 60mph, great sound, snaps things up for sure. Chris says his secondary coupled with grinding down your clutch plates (send to him) so they close slightly more gives you more snap and top end. Every single SB solution (I think I have 6 now) simply work, he does not put it out there unless he has run it and no doubt done 100x protypes himself... To find individuals like him willing to support our Nytros is awesome. For me, adding an MBRP trail can comes before messing with the secondary clutch. I am not trying to drag race above 85mph, I see headlights behind me now, I think a can will add more for me. Regarding the SB system, do them all. A few other good clutch systems out there too, but you can actually call Chris and talk to him, cool to hear the Yamaha war stories from the 90's... What is is all about, he is an original, the real deal, check out his web page.
