I need to get the most top end speed out of my 07 Apex ER.
If I understand right, i need the belt to run as high in my primary clutch as i can get it?
I pull 11 rpms, but the belt runs down about 1/2 inch.
I assume i will need to change the weights?
Any suggestions?
Thanks from a former Doo man, now turned Blue.

clutch

your rpms seem high, but you will have to cut clutch or use a speed sheave
to gain that extra 1/4 to 1/2".

Change the gearing to a 23/38 for hardpacked snow/ice or 22/38 for snow conditions. Get the helix machined to help shift into the OD or get an aftermarket (Dalton) that matches the same degrees as the stocker. Your pulling to high RPM. Clean your clutch faces with a scotch brite pad and then wipe the them down with soap and water or ascetone. Install a new belt if it's over 1000 miles. You don't want to run more than 10,800 on the tach. Run your track as loose as possible before racheting starts. Buy a set of drag&fly weights from Boss performance. Do you have any studs?

Alright, then that's good, you are spinning alot at least..

Ulmer has a good clutch setup for Apex that many seem to be impressed with
I just bought a used one on ebay for my ( new to me this week) 06 ER

we'll see how it works
I hit 122 in 1/2 to 3/4 mile on the speedo on a hardpack road with stock setup.
I'll let you know how the clutch setup goes
