I just put a schmidt bros clutch kit on my sled and im hearing a little rattling. I dont remember if it was like that last yr. I checked around and the roller bolts are tight but move back and forth because of the sleeve in there not allowing them to befully snug. I dont remember there being set screws there just on the fly weights. The primary clutch looks to have a very slight wobble at idle but i believe its normal too. Im just second guessing myself after the work i did but everything seems tight besides the roller bolts slight play.
Put #10 plastic washers on those bolts and it will be nice and quiet.

^ Not Necessarily. I have tried everything on my 09 XTX. Here is what I have done, and determined so far...
-I put O-rings on the roller bolt, no better (maybe a bit but not the main cause of rattle).
-I then decided to remove everything from the clutch except the two sheaves (ie. took out the weights, rollers, and all hardware). The rattle was still there.
-After this, I determined it was the o-rings on the spider. I separated the clutch, and installed new O-rings and plastic drive paws on the spider...no better.
The one thing that lead me astray was the fact that with no clutch, the rattle is practically gone. So since I still had a rattle after replacing everything in the clutch, I bolted a counterweight onto the end of the crank (stub shaft) and fired it up.
My problem is, I have too much play between the stub shaft and the crank.
So just a heads up for people with the rattle, it may not just be an easy fix, but hopefully for you it is!
After reading into the stub shaft, someone was saying Yamaha went to a different vendor and there is too much play in the spline.
I guess I have to live with it.
You also cannot just remove the stub shaft without pulling the engine, can anyone confirm this however? I'm not going to pull my engine, but If I can get to the spline by just removing those 4 bolts, I may be able to come up with a fix! Need someone to confirm first before I touch anything though.

The only reason? It's only at idle you hear rattle, yes?
