Clutch rattle

I just bought a 2005 vector with 680 miles on it. This is my first Yamaha sled couldn't pass it up. Is it normal for their the clutch to rattle at idle?

Seems to be common on the 3-cylinder models.

There are mods one can do to lessen the rattle but I found it always came back.
Use the Search option and have fun reading.

It's fine. Run it. Eventually you'll tune it out, but your buddies will wonder if it's gonna grenade at any moment.

After each season I took the primary clutch off and brought it to my dealer who installed a new kit for about $40.00. It worked quite well but for only that season. I don't bother anymore as I idled up the engine and for the most part the rattle went away.

Schmidt brothers racing has a quiet kit for $10. I used it on my wife's Vector and one on my Nytro definitely kills a bunch of the rattle. Here is a link.

I have the Schmidt kit on my 05 and it quieted it down probably 75%. Put it on my 14......MAYBE a 25% improvement.

Those are the washers to take the play out of the bolts for the spider rollers, correct?
