I did a search on this and get a million posts, but still no direct cure...
I have an 04 Mountain and the clutch rattles at idle. Fellow RX riders say it's normal and not to worry about it. Everyone who hears my sled comments on the clutch. It has 2500kms on it and I bought it new to me last spring.
Any quick fixes?? I've read from carb synching to replace clutch parts. Clutching is bone stock.

What you are hearing maybe the gear reduction system on the sleds.

I turned my idle up a couple of hundred RPM until it went away.
Not so choke fussy on a cold start was the bonus.
A little less engine braking too it seems

Dealer installed the same update as was done to the vectors. 14 bucks for the kit and half an hour labour. No more noise, only a little reduction noise. No rattle.

Three o-rings and three new sliders. You have to split the primary clutch so you need the proper clutch tools to take it apart. Make sure you loctite it back together!

I think we may be talking about something different!!! The rattle I have is from inside the motor housing....The reduction gears as i understand it...

That rattle stays, but some of that noise on mine was clutch rattle. All gone now.

same here. Uped the idle and I agree...less engine breaking and better starting. It likes to idle at about 1600 r's
