Where and how much does it cost the cure for the rx1 clutch rattle? this sound really anoys me . it makes the machine sound like an old truck or something. whats evryones opinion on this

Turn up the idle a few hundred rpm & it,s free. Been covered a lot in the last 5 years if you did a search.

That will do it it's not the clutch its the gear in the reduction system.

Or leave it that way and challenge your buddies to a race but ask for a 3 sled advantage because your clutch is broken (hear it?) :jump:

so i guess ya have to live with it.what is involved in maintaining clutch what to look for wear ,lube ... cleaning?

I turned up my idle to 1500 -1700 and noise is much better. Do not lubricate just clean in the dishwasher works great! Just look out for wife might not be appreicated by her but does a great job on the clutch.

The biggest thing to watch for in clutch wear and tear is the weights and the pin that the weights are mounted to. The weights themselves tend to flatten out on the convex side and this makes the "shifts" not as smooth. It's tough to tell when the spring is worn, but for a few bucks you might as well replace it when you replace the weights.

As suggested, turn up the idle to > 1500. The noise typically goes away. If it does not, then maybe you need to sync the carbs.

Let it go....the rattle makes the sled sound like crap but it does not interfere with performance at all. Just ride it & enjoy. My 1st 03 Rx-1 turbo sounded like the primary clutch was gonna come out & decapitate you & that was 2 years ago.

ive done a few rx1 clutches with the spider rubber slide update and it does help the noise some. it also keeps the clutch rollers from sliding back and forth on the weights. it is worth the 12bucks for the parts
