Sorry if this is yet another clutching repost but I have a few questions and would like some clutching input.
Just bought a 08 Apex MTX. Love the set up but I am going to turn it into a crossover for %75 of my riding and other %25 will be out west. I need some clutching help for my normal riding under 2500. I have been looking at yamahas clutching charts and specs and think I could get a pretty go set up using stock yamaha parts. The problem is I am assuming Ill be using rivets and such and don't think I want to be drilling and re riveting all the time. I am not a know all about clutching either so any imput helps.
Is there an aftermarket company that would give me more adjustablility than stock Yamaha Parts?
If I went with yamahas charts id be looking at 14.5mm rollers, 17.2 mm steel rivets (all three), go to 22/40/70L gearing, 60deg instead of 70deg.
What should I do to my secondary then as well? Any and all flatlander clutching advise would be appreciated.
I just need to get a little higher cruising speed at less rpm. Otherwise I am loving the skid and sled all around.

I have stuff in mine just to get buy but if you really want your sled to fly.
Put in the short track sea level apex parts.
On my last apex it ripped.

Just the man I wanted advice from pro116! Thats pretty much what I was contimplating doing but what happens when I actually get into some powder. Am I going to be eating the power trying to turn that track or should I leave my gearing along and just play with the clutches and that should level everything out?

Buy another sets of stock weights off here or ebay etc, most of the time they are pretty cheap. Use one set for out west and the other for home. I'm at 1850' and use the stock weights loaded, small rollers, stock springs, and 50ish/low 40 high 30 helix. This setup shows the snow flap to 10&11 XFire 800's till about 85 mph.

I would definatley gear up.You can only hit about 95-100 o the speedo and your out of gear bouncing off the rev limiter.

If you clutch for sea level and ride 3-4ft of powder in the up your only going to drop about 200rpms.

Well I just ordered a 22t and 24t gear and 70link chain. What do you guys suggest I used from the start? Go with the 22t and stock MTX clutching for now? or just wait until I can get the clutching parts I need?

I would go with the 22t and wait for clutching parts.
Put a wanted add in the classafieds.
I know DaJudge has some clutch weights.
