09 Nytro, Run 162x2.5 CE, Stock Weights, and have shockwave on route. Running natural aspirated. I am thinking of changing gearing to 19 tooth. I ride at 2000 with trips to 9000 for about 10 days a winter. Boondocking and ditch banging.

Is the gear change worth while

And where do I go with the clutching. Gear down and add weight to primary. No change to secondary oter then shockwave. Does that sound like it will work.

I'm feeling like I may have bitten off more the I can chew.

On my MTX I swapped the stock mav for a CE(both 162) and dint change anything clutch or gearing wise. Sled runs good and hits target rpm @ 1k-2k. In IP (7k-10k) in deep snow I was about 700rpm low, but it was Yamaha recommended clutching and no gear change. I know I know, but I wanted to see if it would pull that much weight with the additional traction.. Oh ya I forgot it dropped like 10-15mph track speed when climbing too, but even low on rpm, it still climbed MUCH better than with the mav!

19 gearing helps. A stiffer secondary spring like the AC yellow or wind the holy begeezus out of the stock one. No weight in the primary just stock MTX Hi Alt weights and i think either the gwg or opo can't remember what im running right now for a spring. Will get yah pretty close.
