Clutching for nytro MTX

Tried both top gears. KM/h won't change much. Here is my set up for a 162 with Hindle exhaust. Weights loaded with 17.2 steel rivets in 2 holes and rivet with hole in the tip. 18 tooth gear, OPO primary, 14.5 rollers, stock secondary spring , 43* helix. Hurricane airbox mod, PCV and autotune. Pulls 9050 rpm. Put in the 20 tooth and it will only pull 8800 rpm.

Wife's sled is a stock 153 MTX with a Super-Q pipe. OPO primary, 14.5 rollers, stock secondary spring and 45* helix. Stock weights empty. 18 tooth gear bounces off the rev limiter by 75 mph. 20 tooth gear and it will run 8900 to 9000 on the trail and haven't checked it off trail. Wife doesn't complain so it must be fine for her. Putting the 20 tooth back in her's and I will check it this weekend for off trail performance.

Elevation is around 1600 feet.

HearnoEvil....

Here's what I had for my '11 Nytro.....called the Sea Level Kit from Yamaha for the MTX which is supposed to be for 0 to 1000m..
Gearing is 22/40, secondary helix is stock, and the springs and weights can be seen in the picture below. Arms are 8FS.

Worked really well for me last year, but after the engine mods, I went to Ulmer's stage 1, which is an exellent match to the engine power.

Also, the 21/39 is only a 2% difference over the 22/40 so the XTX stockers should also work with this setup.

BTW....you guys got any snow? Man we are suffering...might be time for a road trip!

Just got back from the Snowies was awsome love this sled but needs to hit a diet on te front end!!!!! Definatly going to look into clutching!!! likes to trnch in the deep sugary pow!!!! also talked to some guys that have a sweet set up and Im goning to get the same Ulmer Racing intake with a PcV and a bender exhaust U.R. has a really good map made up for the set up! and they have some ideas about clutching!!!!
They were still tinkering with clutches trying to figure out the trenching issue they controlled it with rivits in teh weights, but still issues, they said they were starting over from scratch IDK but the sled is fun!!!! :yam:
