You need to add 4.5 grams to the Heavy Hitter weights when going from a sidewinder clutch to an Apex or Viper (previous style) clutch.

If you are 250hpr, you are probably setup with 3/4 allen in the heel, 3/8 steel in the mid and 7/16 with a thin in the tip. You can try this setup which works.... 3/4 allen in the heel, 7/16 steel in the mid and 7/16 steel with 2 thick washers in the tip. That will add 4.4 grams to your weights.

Either belt works and will perform the same with the above setup.

But you need to have your belt deflection correct, no matter which belt you go with. An aftermarket belt adjuster works perfect in this situation. 1 quick turn and you are done. Don't even have to take off the clutch and you can turn it with your gloves on.

Big shout out to Thunder Products! I bought my second Sidewinder used... it had Heavy Hitter clutching on it already. I posted my problem regarding setting up my Apex clutch to work for the weekend. Not only did they reply to this post and tell me what to do to make it work, I called them because I had questions. They walked me through the setup, and gave me a personal cell number to call them if it didn’t work as intended! Well, it worked exactly as they said it would. Best customer service I’ve had in a long time! Thanks again Thunder Products! I’m a customer for life, I will add your products to any and all sleds in the future!

I have a quick question for anyone that can help. I have a Dalton helix 37/35 and blk and orange Dalton spring. I had thunder product heavy duty rollers in last weekend and took the sled for it's 1st ride since buying it. It is tuned with hurricane race bundle. I took it very easy on it and let it break in slowly. The clutches were mami g a funny noise which I'm thinking had to do with tight belt. When I got home I noticed my secondary rollers were not all touching the ramps 2 were and 1 not so much. I changed them out to hi torque rollers and yet 2 touch and 1 spins freely. This Dalton helix should be more dialed in so all 3 touch evenly I would think. Any idea what I need to do thanks mike

I also forgot to mention the sled has a 250hp tune on it as well...

Just take the ramps and spring that you had in SW to put in apex clutch,and be done with it,if you like the sled with apex clutch on,than leave it on,and leave the SW clutch on bench.

I bought new primary rollers for my SW and put them in, they also told me to add 3 little washers to the tip of the heavy hitters which I did 3 to each weight? Now my top end only pulls 8200 rpms, before that about 8800 rpm, should I take the little washes out? Please chime in, thanks

Yes, that is the best part about our weights is that they are fully adjustable.

Remove the 3 washers from the tips
