Clutching-Looking for details

I am definately getting heavy hitters for my 05 RX-1 but I have many questions that stretch beyond what I can find when I do a search on the topic.
First let me explain what I am looking for. I want the most power to the ground and I want the sled to go with little throttle. I loved the clutch kit in my 99 SRX. It took very little throttle to go and when you rolled into the throttle the sled would respond instantly. The more you moved the throttle the harder it pulled. I have ridden sleds that hardly respond at all until you nearly open it up...then suddenly it comes alive and the sled starts cranking. I don't like that. I am someone who rolls into the throttle not someone who clamps it to the bar like an on/off switch. Another thing I liked about the bender clutch kit is that you could really keep the RPM's down if you wanted to...give it a little throttle and it would shift way out keeping the revs down. But again...if you rolled into it then the clutches would shift out and it would pull like crazy (as you were rolling into it).
The back shifting on this kit was horrible. Every time I matted it the sled would kind of bog...but that doesn't really matter to me since I don't ride like that anyway. Can I get this type of set up from the heavy hitters? Is a clutch kit with that kind of feel going to get me the maximum power to the track? Any feedback would be appreciated...and any recomendations to setting the heavy hitters up would nice too!

I've asked the same thing aswell, since I'm not into just hammer it for 1000 feet and the let go to the next attempt, but everyone seems to be very tight-lipped when it comes to what weights to put where on the HH to get just that you explain.

Hopefully someone can come forward and break the silence.

Contact Matt at the Speedshop. He has helped me to the extreme with the set up for my ECP kit and my clutching. I am still fine tuning. There are others on this site that are awsome.

You are looking for a clutch with 100% efficiency. Not going to happen. You gotta give something up. The stock set-up is probably not far from what you're looking for. Maybe a lighter primary spring or back off the secondary to get it to shift faster. If you aren't one of those "to the bar, toggle switch riders", why do you care about getting the most power to the ground? Simply put, you can't have your cake and eat it too . If it were me in your situation, I'd keep the stock set-up, tinker with it a little and save the $$ of the aftermarket kit. The stock set-up does fine for the average rider it was designed to accomodate. JMO.

Thats what I thought. I knew there would be some compromise to what I was looking for. I guess I will have to play around with it and get it to where I like it. My SRX was clutched like that and it seemed to be getting a lot of power to the track considering some of the sleds I have beaten with that machine so I figured I could do the same with my RX-1. I am for the most part a performance guy and would like something that will get the power to the ground so I am more than willing to sacrafice the feel of a 100% efficient clutch...but only so much...I will have to tune it myself and then we will see. I just wasn't sure if anyone had a set up that they thought would suit my needs.

I run the stock primary with an OSO spring, and a Hauck Magnum Roller secondary. This set up gives a good up shift, instant back shift and still cruises decent. 35 mph trail riding is turning about 6500 -7000 rpm, but opened up it climbs instantly to 10, 400. I hear ya though. As much torque as these 4 strokes have they could easily cruise at 3500 rpm and have plenty of pull. You just can't get that kind of low speed rpm, and still have a fast back shift. At least, I don't know how to do it :~). Good luck, keep us informed of what you find out!
