Cold weather starting trouble...

I dont have a heated garage to keep mine in but I do keep it in a shipping container and have never had a problem starting it even when it was -38F but the other day I took it out for a ride it was about -35f or so and road for about an hour or so then parked it be the house uncovered and the wind was blowing pretty good maybe -50 wind chill went out about two hours later to start it and no luck heard the fuel pump click but didnt sound like it usually does and it would not start tried several times but it would not start it turned over no problem just sounded like it was getting no gas so i put the cover back on and put a space heater on the seat and let it run for 30-40 minutes and it started right up first turn just like it usualy does so lately when ever I leave it outside I put the cover on it and have had no problems since so my theory is it just doesnt like the wind chill factor just a guess.

EFI Problems

Last year, my 04 Rx, with 5W-30 oil, started at - 45 and the next day at - 42 degrees. It took a bit of crankin'. But she started.

Occasionally, the batteried EFI on my AC Ext, that I had, could get messed up. When it did that, you would have to hold the throttle down a bit while cranking it. Later, my two batteryless ZRs, that I had, did not suffer this problem. Whew! ..... Glad I am done with that AC B.S.!

Not sure what your experiencing. But I am keeping an eye out for problems on these sleds. Maybe next year I'll give Yamaha EFI a try. I loved the EFI on my two past ZRs. I really think 4 stroke and efi is the way to go. However, I also think that one should never buy a first production year model. Good Luck!
