Well, I did it.
After over 40 years of sledding, (the last 15 or so on Cats), Yesterday I picked up my next ride... An '06 RTX with only 2500 miles on the clock.
Gonna be taking a LOT of abuse from my friends....
My son asked me what I wanted with such a "tank".
I told him that at 53, when I look in the mirror every morning, I see a lot less Tucker Hibbert and a lot more Tuckered Out.
ELectric start and reverse are kind of appealing these days...
Next up?
I have an 136 Expert X from my ZR883 sittin' around begging for some action, a 144 something or other, my C&As, a higher seat, a riser and possible a PC3 and pipe.
Also, I gotta replace this dumb batwing do-nothing windshield.
Anybody looking for a low mileage, unbroken 121 Monoshock skid??
Darkside, here I come.
Khaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.............

Dark side???? You actually just found the light side my friend! Good luck with the sled and enjoy.
When yo uare sitting at the end of a run on your "tank" and your son shows up with your snow dust all over his helmet from trying to keep up he may feel differently. Also as we age we get wiser, it sounds as if yo uare ready to start spending most of your season with the hood down putting on miles instead of tinkering.

Yes I have to agree you just found the light. Now make sure to buy a tow rope for your sons and your friends sleds and go get your riding clothes dry cleaned so they dont smell like a chainsaw any longer.

I was going to say dark side? Others have it covered.
With your riding description, you will love the sled. It doesn't do everything great but it rules the trails IMO. Add boost and you'll never leave. Lots of good kits available cheap now from people parting out apexs. If you want the ferrari on snow add boost and hang on!
Good call on expert, mono is soft and needs some money to be ridden hard even then the mainteance can be a killer. I got the ZX2 and beat the wee out of it and I cant kill it. Amazing skid to ride and zero maintenance.

Werksguy,
One word of caution that hasn't been mentioned yet...your checks will be a little sore after the first few rides from the perm-a-grin you'll have from the 150 FI motor.

I had my 07 apex new since 07 and ride with a group of all 2-strokes...cat ski-doo polaris and after 6 yrs of them maintaining theres verses vs watching how munch I have done to mine the talking (roughing me up) has all stoped. Some had to buy new sleds since then. They have a whole new respect for how it performs , last , and holds value. They come around with ther hat in there hands now! And oh ya!! in yor 50's and on a yamaha.. thats just wisdom showing through!

Riser you can add 2" with out new cables. You can add more foam to the seat or Boss.seat if you can fine one.

Re: sled
Hi Jeff, how ya doin? Are you planning on being around for the car show this year? Thinking about coming to enter instead of a short visit. They cut the Fox Lake show to 92 and older so I will not be going there. Son thought the sled's running on the river was cool last year at the Berlin show so I think I will try to plan driver's to make it for the day.
