Well I own a 07 RTX and my Dad owns a 07 attak GT. This weekend I had a chance to put a few miles on his attak. My impressions were as follows:

Handling:

The Attak handles significantly better than a stock 07 RTX. It handles about the same as my RTX with a 13mm bar and floats set at 50 lbs.

Suspension:

The Attak has one heck of a nice suspension in it. The RTX is stiffer but it is intended to be. I really enjoyed the plush ride and adjustabiliity of the Attak GT.

Performance:

The RTX felt more snappy. This is no surprise it is geared lower and has a shorter track. However if we were to drag race I am pretty sure I would lose. The attak really hooks up with the 136" Ripsaw.

Overall:

I was very impressed with the Attak GT and I would recommend one to anybody. I beleive it is the ultimate trail machine. I still like my RTX more but I also love to pound the ditches and hammer through the rough stuff. IMO If Yamaha came out with an Attak RTX it would be the perfect sled!

I have a attak gt skid on my rtx and really like the combo of the floats and 136 skid W/ ohlins. It can be a handful on very tight twistys in some conditions, but on rr beds and feilds and stuff its great!

My cousin has a Attack GT, very nice sled. I enjoy riding it. I still perfer my RTX is all aspect of the machine, acceleration, handleing, etc.

I too agree Yami should make a Attack RTX.

Great comparison and comments about the RTX and Attak GT. I agree with Ported Hornet that a Attak RTX would be a perfect sled and decided to create my own version this summer. For anyone who hasn't seen it yet, here's a link: http://www.ty4stroke.com/viewtopic.php?t=44974

The sled hasn't seen snow yet, but I'm hoping that this 136" version of the ProActive CK skid will give me what I'm looking for. It should be interesting to wait and see if Yamaha offers us any other 136" options in the '09 line up other than the monoshock.
