I'm trying to figure out what the MODE button on the cluster does on an 07 Attak RTX. From what I can see, it does nothing. I looked in the manual, and it's not referenced. Google searches and looking on this site I can only find references to it being used to access the menu to control the rear suspension on a GT model.
Is it not used on an RTX at all?
Thanks!

i think you may use it in programing mode I cant recall off the top of my head but for normal sled use no. it would be for the gt model with electronic controlled rear shock.

Hi steveg_nh: Could you clarify for us what model Apex you have, to my knowledge there was no such thing as an 07 Attak RTX model from Yamaha. It's either an 07 Attak or an 07 Attak GT those years.
First, does your sled have a 136" track? If so, it is definitely an Attak.
Second, what kind of shock does it have in the skid? If it has an Ohlin's brand single shock in the rear suspension with a wiring harness attached to it, then it is an Attak GT, for which the mode button may flip to a screen on the display when sled is turned on, as thor452 suggested. The display will show an image of a shock and the level of rebound it is set up for which you can change with one of the blue switches on the handlebar (thumb warmer one I think when in that mode). The non-GT Attak, has a tunnel mounted remote adjustment dial to change shock rebound soft to hard vs the electronic control. If you do have the Ohlins shock, and the mode button does not do anything when sled is turned on, then the wire to the shock could be broken.
The RTX Apex was only ever a 121" sled with a totally different suspension with two shocks and torsion springs as I recall.
Let us know what kind of animal you have there,
Cheers.

Sorry, must just be an Attak. The previous seller said it was an Attak RTX. It's not a GT that I know. Model is RXW10W. It has the clicker suspension adjustment on the tunnel and a 136" track.

Thanks! I remember a time when the service manuals were on TY, but that was 2 stroke. Are they available on the site for 4 strokes? I need one.
