I need feedback on snow and conditions for the following; Day one- Minden to North Bay, Day two- North Bay to Killarney, Day three- Killarney to Sportsman (Kukagami Lake), Day four- Sportsman to Deep River, Day five- Deep River to Minden. Any and all feedback is appreciated. I plan on end of February for this trip. If anyone wants to tag along for the ride, even sections, feel free to message me. Happy sledding to all.

I can ony tell you from pembroke up to deux riviere is good. Gas is not available in deux riviere anymore so grab some in Mattawa and the next one is in stoneclif.

If you have time try to run some of the trails north of NB and Mattawa. They are the NB300's. Grat trails if you like wide forest/hilly and corners.

I have a friend with a cottage in Minden and last weekend was the first time they were out. Snow is minimal but I think most of the trails are open. You can check on the www.ofsc.on.ca website too.

Pray for no rain on Thursday and Friday! Plus temperatures, not looking good!

Took the sled out today. After 6 km the engine overheated and my track was stuck solid to the sliders.
Took a lot of sweat (and #$%^&) to pry them loose. Finally managed to get home.
The trails are ice, no powder whatsoever.
They are calling for rain and high temps on Friday.
Maybe a bit of snow on Saturday, but not much.
next week could be better, although the forecast is usually wrong anyway.

Yea it rained a good part of the day yesterday around here then we got hit by a flash freeze. Went down from plus 5c in the evening to minus 18c when i left at 4 30am. I can just imagine the trails are all going to be ice. On the plus side IF we don't loose it all we will have a very solid base...

WTF! I may have to push off the trip for a week or so. Last year was the same damn thing, ice, ice, ice. I overheated most of the trip, which in turn means stopping to put snow on the running boards to cool her down. I burned up a new set of hyfax in 600 miles, replaced them and cooked those off in the same. Good thing; once they burn down so far, they usually stop.

We couldn’t make it west of North Bay last year as there was no snow. I hope to leave from my cousins house in Minden and work to Killarney to my Aunt and Uncle’s house, then around the park back to Minden. My cousin had to drive my truck and trailer 15 miles to pick us up on our way back last year because the snow was gone when we returned.

Yea i would wait a bit if you can. Like i said if we dont loose the base we will be up and running again #*$&@ soon as it snows. I have to push my trip up around NB back as well.

ontario snow

Went thru Minden area last weekend , snow was bad , warm with rain this week , probably not rideable now.

North Bay west , done after this rain ,

Supposed to freeze and snow central Ontario later this weekend.

I am heading up to verner on sunday to do the RAN tour. The OFSC maps still show it all as open and TWN says the thaw is prety much done for NB.

gsxr, have they just not updated the status for NB yet?
