Hi Gang,

Working on fixing my front pivot arm and just wondering if the control rod or transfer rod is meant to be dampened. Mine seems to just move freely back and forth no resistence either way. It would seem to me that there should be some dampening there but again, I am a noob to this.

Thanks in advance,

No dampenng is normal, should move freely. Have you had the sled for long? If not make sure to check driveshaft bearing, suspension bushings steering bushings, Exhaust donuts ect...Lots of great info on here. Do you ride in Ont. or Quebec?

its normal... mine was pulled out last year and still sits collecting dust on the bench...

sherlock, how does your sled turn? My transfer rod is still in the stock position but I want to experiment with a bit more transfer to help loft the skis when in deep snow, but I'm worried about getting the front end to bite ok when going into corners. Does it transfer more to the front on decel or less?

Thx

Thanks guys. Just getting the arm welded now, so wasnt sure if I shoudl replace the arm. Sounds like not.

I ride in the Ottawa area, Metcalfe for the most part and surrounding. Might make a trip up Northern Ont. once the snow starts to go away here. You? ride around the area much?

I have the skid out now so going over everything I can. Going to tackle the donuts this summer.

I ran without the control arm attached and it was a bit crazy to be honest. My headlight was pointing up more than forward with any amount of throttle.

Hey Roman Rider,

Sled definately lifts the skis under hard accel, but as for keeping skis planted its great, the second i let off the gas, front plants back down and corners just as good as before, but now when 3/4's way thru the hard turns i can blast out and have fromt come up just a bit and hawls out of the corners. I personally like it this way, as it make the front end of sled feel very light. I used to own some rev's and it makes it feel like them a bit. take it out, and try it, i have over 4000miles without it in and frankly it wont be going back. For offtrail it handles it better than you could emagine.. just my 2c.

thx

Thanks sher. I couldn't break the mounting nuts loose last night so I just decided to adjust the transfer rod to max and try that. I've been riding the sled for 5 yrs now with it in the stock position so I'm looking forward to experimenting with more transfer, as we have to boondock a little through our neighbor's property to get to the trail system. I'm looking forward to testing it. ;)!

Snow angel, I ride pretty much only in Quebec, Montpellier, Mont Laurier, Low ect...But if you get a chance to ride out by Pembroke, North Bay area, wow you will be impressed! Great Power line, Logging roads ect. Fun Fun.
