2010. New to me vector LTX GT . Bought with 900 miles during the riding season.
Now I pulled the skid out.......WOW..problem!
The control rod was unscrewed and the internal rod bent down so the outside aluminum housing is rubbing the track .....each bar is scuffed through so you can see the fiberglass rods. No problem with the rods just no longer covered with rubber for 1+ inch.
I was able to clean up the threads on the outside aluminum housing so it will screw in and out....not the smoothest but works.
But despite straightening the internal rod it does not want to slide easily in and out. I notice there is a seal over the rod so tight fit likely needed.
So enough venting the Question is were can I find this rod I can't seem to get the search to work for this. Yamaha wants 93 $ .
I am thinking
1. Buy used... Can't find yet
2. Continue to putz maybe emery cloth away the old until it slides easy but fear will leave a poor seal...get moisture.....ice and poor function and finally have to replace it any way.
So wanted to warn you all to check for the transfer control rod being loose and ask for help or guidance
Thanks

If you can still move the rod in and out by hand at all, still would be fine on your sled as it generates a whole lot of leverage on this part to move that shaft. Had to replace mine last year when the lower mounting bolt failed and screwed up the transfer rod. Had 23,000 kms on my skid frame and it was done also. Bought an entire rear skidframe in excellent condition for the same price that Yamaha wanted for just the weight transfer rod set-up. It's an expensive part, however, you just need one piece of it.
