I have a question about the Apex exhaust donuts. Are the machined copper version of these worth the extra money or should I just get the OME ones? This is the second time I have had to replace them on my 2006 Apex.
Thanks

I'm going to switch back to OEM and see if my backfire is caused by fuel build up or an exhaust leak. My Apex isn't stock so It may not be the donuts. I know that the copper donuts hold the shape well however,I think im going to have a difficult time removing them. I will post results when I make the switch.

Put my coppers in 3500 km ago and something down there is leaking. Haven't had time to dig in yet. Next week.

I've had the copper ones in for 2 seasons..but only about 1000kms...so far they are holding up well. I would (and did) spend the extra (I don't think it's actually that much different).

In the us the price differential is like 2-3 bux for something that seems to last a looooooooooooong time.

In the US the donuts cost over twice as much for the copper ones.

Completely False My Friend...
Stock Donuts are $13 at port yamaha

They are in Canada but I bought from them and the shipping was not expensive even though I am in the USA.

OEM Donuts
I just went ahead and got the OEM ones. Read some articles where they did not think the copper ones sealed 100%. I did see the ones on sled toys for 17.00 and the ones on OFT for like 36.00 a piece. I got the OEM ones for 13.55 a piece. The OEM donuts have a new part# maybe they have improved them somehow.
Thanks
