I use them at work all the time both 3/8 and 1/2 sizes. They are really handy for most job and home depot usually has a impact/drill kit from Makita for pretty decent price, $150 I think? Maybe cheaper. If your carrying it on the trailer make sure you keep the batteries charged and in the heat. Bottom line a great tool but keep a breaker bar just in case, they can't shake loose everything
Good to hear..how much volts and torque will I be needing?

If you can the BEST one to buy is the Snap on cordless impacts 1/2" and 3/8" I use them at work on a daily basis and have them at home in the garage GREAT product. I have one thing to say You get what you pay for. So buy the best isn't that why you ride a YAMAHA.

Totally agree with above but snap on stuff is $$$ for just a random use tool. But GREAT tools for sure!

craftsman makes a good one too
I know snap on is incredible stuff, but 500 is out of the question. They get you for the battery and charger. So how much torque and volts???

I have a cheap ryobi. use it all day every day. its 3/8, but I mostly use 1/4 adapter. nowhere near strong enough for lug nuts. snapon probably is alot better, but I could get 6 or 8 of these for 1 snapon. they are higher than 9 kites

I use an 18v 3/8 DeWalt that I got for free from my contractor step-father. One of the most handy tools in my shop. Makes tear downs quite a bit quicker. I try not to use it for putting stuff together because I like the feel how tight the bolt is.

I bought mine from Northern Industrial Tools. It's a 24V cordless 1/2" impact wrench. I've used it on my clutch bolt (along with a torque wrench) and to replace stud nuts. I also bought deep sockets. It comes in handy , but I also carry a (4) size lug wrench for loosening or final tightening of the truck and trailer wheels.

DeWalt stuff, have 1/2" Impact...300ft lbs I think and a 1/4" drive that's about 110 ft lbs. Saw and drill/driver too, all 18v. Mines older vintage but the new stuff is pretty much the same.

I use snap on, craftsman, dewalt ,daily, and the best bang for your buck and what you plan on using it for is craftsman
(19v with 2 batteries and a charger last xmas was $100.00),
For daily use snap on is by far the best for me.

we use them to,stay away from dewalt, not that their bad,but weve had issues with them where i work, our shop use makita and milwaukee, makita is hard to beat for the money,we also have about 200 makita grinders and 3/8 drills, they last forever
I have a 1/2" Dewalt in the race trailer, works fine for lug nuts. I have the latest 1/2" Litium Snap-on at work which has been the king for years.......BUT the NEW 1/2" lithium Ingersol Rand makes the snap-on look like a toy!!! I now have both and use them daily. I perfer the snap-on for normal use becuase I dont like the Brake the IR has on it when you let up on the trigger. Anything the Snap-on wont take off (even with a fresh battery) the IR will take it off with out even grunting. Plus the battery life in the IR is twice as good. The Dewalt is in the 350.00 range, the other two are in the 650-700.00 range. Eric
