Cross country track

Just purchased a Nytro with the Back Country on it, so I can't give you my personal take. I know several members who have them on their sleds. Agman 57 runs one on an Apex XTX like yours and mine and loves it. My experience with the Cross Over has been outstanding. Great bite in all directions, decent on ice and hardpack. In my Attak with an ExpertX 136 set back for 144 , it went pretty much everywhere I wanted to go. Honestly, I have a brand new Back Country still in the wrapper sitting in the garage. The plan was to install it in my Apex XTX for this season. Purchased gearing and clutching as well. I'll likely sell it off because of the Nytro purchase.

The back country 1.75 came stock on all Swedish apex xtx's and i have to say it's damn near perfect for the sled. We do have softer and less taken care of trails here, but the track does well on the harder stuff as well. Awesome grip on trail and surprising deep snow performance! I haven't found any damage to the track and the sled's done nearly 7000 miles since 2011.

I have the back country on my vector and it made a huge difference. It does however have a lot more trail noise on the beaten path.

If you could pay half the price for the cross over compared to the back country, which would people choose?

Apex 2011 XTX has extroverts you need to cut out the windows and add clips or at least I would add the clips. Carefully with a knife it can be done, I like the idea of drilling the corners. One thing for sure a knife like a broke knife or box cutter or utility as others refer to them can and will overcut in a heartbeat. Cut carefully or your track becomes perfect traction for a sled ramp and of little use for anything else. Never pull or push the knife! I always place my arm on what I'm cutting so it can't and won't slip and use my wrist to cut a bit at a time.
