Ok, I got about a 400 ft. strip marked off in a school yard across from my house. Had about 6 inches on top of wet mushy ground. Needless to say I may have to seed the school yard next spring but here's what I found.
Last year from a dead stop to the end of my little run = 78mph.
This Year with the help of ECP and the Speedshop....= 92MPH!!!!
The sound of this thing is totally different. You know how when you cam a Chevy V-8 engine you can hear that distinctive rumble when it idles? Thats how this thing sounds at an idle.
You guys know how I bragged about the ECP air kit last year? Multiply that feeling times 3. I really couldnt give a good ride evaluation as I havent got a great place to test it out, but I may get a bug up my a$$ and go north this weekend.
But for now, I am totally impressed with both Freddies and Matts work. I am really blown away by the difference between last year and how it runs now. I really think I am ready to run a Mach Z now, thats how confident I am in this new beast.................................Cubby

Good one roadrunner you beat me to it.
Cubby, I am heading up this friday evening to work on my garage at Houghton Lk, I have to get the heater put in and the hot tub, yeah thats right HOT TUB. I will be arriving around 7pm and staying there for the night, unless your in the area and want to drink or something.
Let me know where your going to go, unfortunatly I will not have my sleds there because I am hauling up the tub on the trailer.
Peace out.

What mods did you make?
ECP and clutching? Can you tell me exactly where to get the ECP kit that I keep seeing folks write about? What about the clutching?
Who is Freddie and Matt (the guys that helped you out)? Are they vendors on here or something?
I'm a newbie who just bought an '05 RX-1 and haven't even picked it up yet.
Thanks!

Dude, this comment is as funny as it is true. Freddie spent countless hours porting the head on my sled. Matt did the clutch to match the work Freddie did. I had done what Freddie calls the ECP Stage II kit.............Cubby

Grassfirebob,
Freddie is Freddie Klies of Eastern Cycle Performance (goes by SUPERTUNER on here). He's the guy who developed the ECP (hence the name, get it? ) kit. Basically K & N filters, different jets & plugs, and new springs for the carbs. PM him as SUPERTUNER if interested.
Matt (and forgive me Matt, but I can't remember your last name) has a business known as The Speed Shop and goes by BlueByYou2000 on here (and I may be forgetting some punctuation but I'm going from memory and I'm old ). Anyway, Matt developed a clutch kit in various different flavors that compliments the filter/carb kit from Freddie.
Supposedly combined they really wake up the mid-range of the RX-1.
Hope this helps!!

Hey, Cubby!
I think we "talked" late last spring. O.K., maybe not. I just looked up Willoughby on the map
I leave my sleds at our place south of Wetmore (18 mi. from Munising) so I ride pretty much central U.P. If you're going to be in the area e-mail or PM. Love meeting new riders..............although in your case I might make an exception. :ORC Your "showpiece" would put my old dog to shame, eh?

Sounds like you got a winner there Bud!, You'll be wack'n & stack'n sleds all winter.
Would love to see some Video of your sled run or should I say fly.
At night with those little lights on & all your chrome, you'll look a shooting star racing across the horizion

Yamanator, you could put the sled on the tow vehicle's roof like the one picture posted earlier on the site.

Hey Cubby, I don't think you'll be finding many Mach Z's this winter...unless your at the service department!! If Im not mistaken, the count is 4 already with blown cranks! Glad to hear your sled rips!!
