I went with slim Jim’s and they were perfect. I had to change them before my last trip due to wear (almost 2 full seasons) and went with a new pair of brand x carbides I had on hand and the handling was not quite as nice. Will be putting a new set of slim Jim’s on in the fall!

The slim Jims made my sidewinder have unpredictable ski lift in certain conditions, and also pushed bad a few times when I needed them not to. I went back to a single skag and the front settled down nicely, one small rubber shim behind the spindle made the steering a little heavier at slow speeds, but cut back on some minor darting...which was worse on refrozen trails...but tolerable since I goes away when the winder goes to work, at speed. The slim Jims didn't dart. But I prefer the single skag for more precise handling.

6 inch slim jims on my viper... thing flat out rails on the corners!!
They are very aggressive carbides and should solve any handling issues. I'm happy with the performance. Sled goes where I expect it to go.

I tried the Slim jims with the curve skis on my 2017 sidewinder LTX with 192 studs and was not impressed.
I ended up going back to Shaper bars with the 4" leading edge and it handles awesome with no darting issues. The only downside to this setup is the shaper bars don't seem to be very durable.
I am going to switch to Bergstrom carbides for next season for the added durability and expect good results.
