Anyone out there running a D&D silencer or clutch kit on their apex? if so how loud is the silencer and did you notice any power gains or losses? And how does the clutch kit work/feel vs. stock stuff thanks for the info.

I spoke to D&D directly because I wanted their muffler and was told its too loud for trails ( if exhaust noise is an issue in your area) also it only gained 1hp on dyno, I decided not to bother

Is there any aftermarket exhaust that equates to any performance gains on a 2006-2010 Apex?

hauck exhaust actually had gains on the dyno..most silencers out there actually lose 5-8hp, but they do sound good if all you want to do is turn heads..makes you look funny though when someone pulls up next to you and makes you look stupid if front of those people as they drive around you lol

I spent 1000.00 bucks on mine to find all it did was make it snappier in mid range. Lined up with up with my other exact sled and was no better top end. I've had turbo in the past and really it's the only big improvement worth doing in my opinion hard to justify sometimes but it's real gains are the best bang for the buck.

A few years ago when I was in the UP on Lake Gogebic (where everyone likes to race) we ran into a fella that had one of those custom retro Yamaha yellow w/ black strobe Hauck Powersports Apex's. He paid around $15 grand for it. Supposedly it had the fuel controller, different exhaust, clutching etc, etc. We made a speed run with him back to Bergland to across the lake to get gas in town. My 2002 Viper 700 ran neck and neck with the Hauck Apex and our buddies bone stock 2007 Attak GT literally walked away from all of us. So much for all the mods the yellow one had.

you can spend all the money in the world, but if you don't know how to tune them it'll hurt ya not help. just look at the new cat's? they spent thousands trying to make them faster barely caught my stock apex. now i've put a mpi stage one on it, not a chance

IMO, if you take the "U" out of Hauck you know what you will get for the most part. I have tried him twice on different things, all to a true disappointment. The days of Srx's, and v-max models have given some a reputation that shouldn't of Carried over into the newer nytro, apex, and viper style sleds. IMO of course, and with do all respect lol
