I just finished installing 9833 Camo, and Extroverts on my '03 shorty. When I went on to reinstall the skid, the first 2 bolts in the left & right footwells went right in. So did the two at the rear top (big) idler wheels, but the 2 in the middle, on the "mini" idler shaft WILL NOT line up with the holes in the tunnel no matter how much I pry, pull and friggin' cuss at the damn things!!! What am I doing wrong? Sequence, or FRA have to be in a certain position maybe??? :?: :?: :?:

I am no expert as I have not had the skid out of my sled yet…..But what I have done with past sleds, was back off all spring preloads as far as possible….You might try removing the 2 rearmost bolts and work on the center set first…..Sometimes it helps to lower the sled down with the front part of the suspension blocked up…..Butttttt your best bet is to call a bud over…second pair of hands is a big help….JD

Yeah JD

Yeah JD is right bolt the front 1st,then the center, then the rear.Should go together fairly easy that way. Good Luck..I know it's a pain in the arse at times..But you'll get it!..Might need the help of someone else to pull back on the skid and track at the same time.

Yes, you MUST loosen the transfer rod bolts.I've also often used "ratcheting" tie down straps to pull things into position
good luck

YES!! Tomorrow I'll try the transfer-rod bolts, and the middle bolts second. The ratchet straps will be right there on deck, if needed to pull that skid home!!! :) :) Thanks, guys... As usual, this forum proves itself the BEST source of RX1 info. :) :)

Also, you might be using the right cuss words, but in the wrong order. The guys above are right, it's not bad when you get the sequence right.

Check your front h arm for trueness, I had the same problem and apon further investigation found it was bent, If you put the skid on level floor surface , measure the distance between your mounts (bolt holes) and the floor, Mine was out by over an inch, They replaced it 8under warrenty, No worries now with the expert :D

:D :D THANKS GUYS !!! Took the transfer rod bolts loose, and the bolt holes in the tunnel lined up with the shaft holes ..no SWEAT!!! It was like they had "HAIR" around them!!!
