There is a new ripsaw for sale in the clasified section for $320 shipped. You can remove the heat exchanger and have it welded. Shoudn't be too expensive.

I would get it welded in the sled. drop the skid and pull the track. empty the collant. Other wise you have to pull the motor to get it out.

I have had my front heat exchanger out. You do not have to pull the engine. They replaced it for $250 was the cost of the part. Also got a new track for about $400. I tore a stud out and through the outter belt through the exchanger.

If it were to happen again I would weld it right in the sled. They charged 7 hours labor to take it apart change the exhanger, install a new track. The heat exhanger is also held in place from 29 rivits.

I'd repair the exchanger if possible. Who knows when you'd wreck your next exchanger. Welding won't cost that much.

Get it welded I have done about 8 of them it is alot easier if it is out but can be done in the sled you want make sure you have no fuel in it , even take the carbs. off can't be to careful

If you can get it welded do it. Its a beeeeeach of a job to change one. Bin there done that. :o|

I just had mine welded in the sled. Track blew and 3 picks went into the exchanger. I just put an "Ice Claw" track on and will try that for awhile. I'll give a report on how that new track works.
