grubf said:Just got home with my new Woody's Doolys. Should have read this post first. I already have them out of the package so I am married to them. They are 6" and will be used on an '07 Vector ER. I am shimming my stoppers as per Bergstrom post on tech. Pushing seems to be the common complaint. Since I have nothing to lose do you people think that I could reduce the snowplow effect if I were to grind off the first 4 inches of the runners on both sides right up to the point the real carbide starts? This would get rid of aprox 1/3 of the area that is contributing to the pushing. Or is this the dumbest thing you have ever heard? Thanks.
I personally don't think they're that bad but I haven't run anything else in almost 10 yrs.
Even if you've taken the out of the package, if you swapped them for a pait of Slim Jims, would the place you got them from swap them?? I'd ask.

If you are thinking of grinding or cutting off some of the runner portion of the Duelly's, why not cut the front section off of one wear bar and the rear section off the other (on the same ski). This may help by not allowing the ice, snow and debris to clog up the centre of the runners, which has been noted as a big contributing factor to the pushing on Duelly's. This would give you a staggard setup on each ski.

I let tension off the front shock in the rear suspension. I unscrewed it almost as far as it would go. It was as if the entire weight of the sled was balancing on the front of the track, and it would dart, and it felt like it would fall over in every corner I took. This solved most of the problems, I then put doolies on to make it respond much better.

when i first got my 06 nytro i had alot of indside ski lift. but in reading a article in a snow mag i started adjusting for my weight and style i ended up reducing the fox shocks to 50 psi and reducing the front spring on the skid by about an inch not the sled stays flat no matter how hard i push it into the twisties. i run with alot bigger 2 strokes that run away from me on the straights but i will tell you i own the corners and catch them there all of the time. the only problems i have had with my sled was the inner idler wheels and port yami sold me a set from a previous year which is supposed to hold up longer. i did have 2600 mi on it before the let loose. and for some reason the oil light came on 1 day last year for no reason was riding with an attack and swapped the level sender out and no help rode to the dealer in fort kent and they checked it out and found nothing the light would come on intermittently. they spoke of a potential chafing problem by the hood hinges so when i got home i took a piece of thick walled 1" vinyl tubing and wired tyed over this section didn't see anything wrong but i have yet to see this again. replaced my slides at 2600mi when i replaced the wheels but the hyfax probably was good for another 1000mi at least but i was there so i did it.
