I notice with my dads rage that he darts a bit, and if there is a crust on the lake he reallys dig in. I'm about to buy a new apex and i hope it will be a bit better. If not, what can i do to fix this. I see many people are changing their skies to simmions skies, does this help?

No matter what you do you will always have SOME darting.. all sleds dart, even the ones with dual runner skis..

darting is caused by grooved put in by other sleds in the snow , that when caught by your carbides causes it to follow those grooves!

Dual carbide skis help alot.. as long as you dont rid in a group of guys with the same skis..

if you do a search on this site you will find SEVERAL topics about it..

Read on ..

Before spending big bucks on skis. Try shimming the production ones. I used a 3/8" hard rubber (drive belt ground down) between the skeg and rubber bumper on the back side of the skeg. No darting, no pushing and still have the worthless OEM 3" cabides on mine. Berstrom "Ugly Kit" would be my next step. Have a set, but haven't had the need to install yet.

What about just trying dual carbide runners on your OEM skis? They made a world of difference for darting (flex skis) on my old rev.

Dual carbides push in the corners, they just don't dig in, If you ride your sled hard in the corners I would not recomend dual carbides
