My 03 RX-1 is darting like crazy! Someone here had a post on darting. I believe they put rubber shims in the rear heel of the ski to give it more down pressure on the back of the ski.
Anyone know anything about this post? Thanks

I put the Woody's Doolys on my OEM skis. Rode about 300 miles so far this season and haven't noticed the darting I did last year.

Hey CJ, I just decided against the Dooly's mainly because of $$$. They are pretty expensive. After seeing a few guys on the forum using them I decided to call Bergstrom Skegs http://www.bergstromskegs.com
He can set you up with the toughest set of carbides yo have ever seen and a set of "Ski Savers"...I installed them and now have 400 miles on them. Very Little darting and they held up great!!
PS. Read the information on his webaite about why darting occurs. Pretty good information and he also supplies the rubber shims as well.

read my article on darting in the Tech Page from www.totallyamaha.com It should get you on the right track.
As for how thick of a shim you need...it's what ever you need to get 1/8" gap at the front of your turning carbide with fresh bars.
This allows the skis to slice into ruts, instead of allowing the front of the skis to push the sled around. Works like a charm, and is free if you've got a skidoo buddy, he won't mind getting rid of one of his dozen blown belts laying around.
good luck!

RXONE, $60 a piece :!: Is that for 6" :?: :?: I only paid $42 each, but yes they are still more expensive than single carbides.

Vmax John
Hey Vmax John I took care of the darting problem with your idea.Wow works great! Feels like a totally different sled now. What used is a couple pieces of worn out hyfax. I cut the channels where they mount to the skid of the one side and ground them down smooth. Then used 2 stainless screws (countersunk) to hold them into place. Thanks John you da man!
