soooooooo my attak has suffered some valve problem. should know monday how bad it is. another dealer told me that i probably oil starved my head by using mobil 1 oil. according to him, below -20, mobil 0w30 doesnt flow and therby ruining my sled. personally, i think he's wrong. what is the truth about running mobil 1 in these engines?

X2 that may be the dumbest thing I've heard coming out of a dealers mouth.I would definitely challenge him to back that statement up with something in writing from Mobil

Yea...doesnt sound right. And dont forget the Magnusson-Moss Warranty act if your stealer, errrr I mean dealer pulls shenanigans and tries not to cover the repairs because of the oil you used, that they were claiming was not "flowing properly". Dealer and/or Yamaha cannot require someone to use Yamalube only in order to cover issues under warranty.

That's an excuse not to be bothered trying to get you warranty...
If the oil's not flowing then it's not getting to any part of the engine and since the crank turns twice as fast as the cams....you'd figure it would throw a rod first. There's also an oil pressure sensor (in the efi sleds)...no oil pressure...no spark!! Sounds more like someone is looking for parts sales rather than customer service...

i looked at viscosity charts, and it appears 0W will flow at -22f. 0W is the best available, so ask him what he recommends.

Is he a dealer or a stand up comedian. Thats the funniest thing I have heard in a while.

X2.... is he in Minoquoa? If so told me the same thing very red in in the face pissed told me my Attak would not start -20F with M1 0-30............ took my biz elsewhere. 6000 miles + Yam 150 running great on M1 0-30 & always started at -20F. Any Yam dealer telling you this is NOT honest take your biz to another. Oil brand is YOUR choice!!

What was the outcome & who was the Yam dealer that bad mouthed M1 oil?
