The decal on the left side cover on my 2010 Vector GT has come loose in a couple of spots. What adhesive can I use to put decal back in place that will be compatable with the decal and the plastic side cover? Thanks :4STroke:

peel the rest of it off(heat gun and some patience) and put a new decal on.... resticking just doesnt work as well. good luck

lol, mine came off the first time I washed it after my first ride.

At first I was PO'd about it, then I decided I liked it better without them.

Vinyl is sensitive. Too much heat with the heat gun will shrink it, and not enough will stretch or tear. You cannot reuse a decal. Remove and replace or simply discard.

Has anyone used a rubber wheel to remove decal? If so could you post url where you bought it.

a hair dryer will easilly remove any decal. after its gone you can use WD40 or GOOGONE, or stickeroff. whatever product you have to remove the glue from the panel

Clear nail polish great to stick down curled edges then use nail polish remover to remove excess. Worked well for me sticker stuck good all winter & Spring wash down last week.

mine came off the first season, got 1 on warranty,it came off too the next season, but those are expensive so i didnt replace it yet,its just gonna fly off anyway, dont know why they dont make the side covers glossy,or at least where the sticker goes, then it would stick, that's something i'll mention on cr's blog next time

smalltownpower thanks for the suggestion and I had forgotten about wd for removal of tar and glue. ;)!

pat the rat have you read anything negative about making the plastic panels smooth and glossy?

Mine started to come off on one side too, so I pulled the other one off. Wasn't a big deal to me.

I have used the rubber wheel to remove the badges on my truck, don't know how it would work on plastic??

As for the side panels, my Nytro has smooth sections where the decals are on the sides. You would think Yamaha would do this to all sleds??

Worked like a charm with hair dryer removed four in about 20 minutes and the hardest part was getting an edge started. :jump:
