I just put a 136' M-10 in my rx and this past week I had a super hard time with trenching. I am running a 1-1/4 track and had my limiter pulled in a little, but not fully. In light sugary snow I just could'nt get moving. Any thoughts?
M10
The M10 has a great rep with the mountain crowd so you might try the mountain forum here or at Snowest for real good advise. I have my suspicions about what might be going on. First and formost, with brand new coupling blocks in the rear, the suspension is locked into the parallelogram mode and the approach angle is very steep. Pulling up the limiter straps then doesn't help much and will even make things worse as the suspension will not shed the snow as well as when it is extended. There are different coupling blocks available that allow more independant movement of the arms which will allow the front arm to climb up on the snow easier. I hear that the blocks used in the Blade snowmobile would be the best. Finally, if you have the stock width RX1 skis, get rid of them.Go with the wider mountain ski. The latest Yamaha slis have been getting good reviews. Hope this helps. I have owned an M10 and am a big fan.
