Why is it every time I try to go to a demo ride I get refused because of my disability( one arm) I bring my own "Goldfinger" throttle and the procedure is simple, remove stock throttle cable and attach to Goldfinger throttle on left side and tape down the stock flipper so the T.O.R.S is still functional. There is one good thing Yamaha(Canada) has going for them and is saving there #$%, a great dealer that I have been dealing with since I bought my first Yamaha Srx in 98 "Markham Mower" has been more than gracious to put aside the politics and allow me to come up to there demo ride if it happens in march to test ride what ever model there is.
I am truly disappointed in Yamaha (Canada) with the customer relations side of things they want me to spend 17,000+ but won't offer me a test ride, truly shameful and they need to look at themselves in the mirror. They also need to thank there lucky stars for dealers like MM that truly know the meaning Customer service and the lengths they are willing to go to make the sale for Yamaha,I can't say the same for the parent company.
I also want to thank CR for making an effort last year for trying to get me a test ride on the "24" hour sled, but once again Yamaha(Canada) decided that it was more important to woo the visiting Corporate guy with a ride than meeting the expectation of there customer base.I wonder if he had bought a sled that year?

That is crazy, I have met plenty of disabled people riding snowmobiles. Last week I was at Togwotee Mountian Lodge and one of the guides was one armed. Our guide said he was a really good rider and could outride most two armed people! I would talk with Yamaha Canada about it, sure they will do something?

You may want to call the CDIA and see if they will get involved. I'm assuming with a little pressure from them yamaha will make this right.

that's why i think its sad when i hear people complain about poor handling and hard to steer 4 strokes when rightarm can ride without complaining,we are the ones who should stop complaining and take example of disabled riders

Thanks for all the support guys, its people like yourselves that help keep me going as well.Your spirit and dedication to the sport truly shape who you are an awesome group of snowmobile enthusists and don't let anyone take that away from you. I have seen the adaptive snocross and these guys are some of my hero's as well, I am looking to compete in the X-games in the future but the rules state that I need a little racing background as well as competing in some qualifiers as per ESPN, still hammering out the details and will more than likely try to compete in the CSRA sanctioning body before I can even think about the qualifiers for the X-games.I will not call Yamaha CR had tryed his best last year and came up short no fault of his,he has a good heart for even trying
If I cannot get a demo ride with my dealer do to moving constraints, at least I can get an idea of what the new Apexs are like from all the awesome people and riders on the forum. And perhaps in the future I will get a chance to meet you all and go for a ride!
Thanx to you all for your support

You are asking sales guys to modify a throttle, disable a safety system, and make everyone else wait while they do this?
I doubt any insurance company would accept that practice.
Of course you should be able to get a demo ride and they should have gone out of there way to arrange one with you at your local dealer on a sled set up for you.
I don't think it's reasonable that you show up unannounced, with your own equipment you want attached to a demo sled, and then complain when they can't accommodate you.

I'm sorry its the society we live in. No one wants to be responsible for what they do wrong. To some Yamaha is deep pockets and we'll make them pay, and I will live happily ever after. After being sued so many times Companies need to tighten requirements and limit things.

I don't need any help with the mod it takes 15 minutes tops and does not disable the T.O.R.S I have been using this system on my sleds for years and it is bullet proof.
And if you remember your last demo ride you signed off on a waiver no?

I am sure my money is the same as yours wether I have one arm or two should not make a difference, either way it will not deter me from a purchase,It never has I just do not understand what they are all afraid of if anyone should be scared it should be me.
