I picked up a new clutch side driveshaft bearing from the dealer for my 2011 nytro.

The bearing appears to be identical (I haven't taken it out of plastic) but it has metal seals instead of rubber.

I was given part number 93306-20589-xx. The part number for my snowmobile is the 93306-20588-00. (The same except for the "xx")

Did Yamaha change this bearing or did I get the wrong one?

Rubber seals are better for regreasing, but maybe the metal seals hold up to the exposure this bearing takes?

The local Yammie mechanic says the metal seal is an upgrade and is better than the the original. He claims 5000 miles. My original had 10,000 miles but was caught just in time. Searching around showed me many Yamaha sleds have the exact same bearing here, except the 4 stroke Vipers. Also the new bearing had allen setscrews where the old one was torx. Crappy for an old guy with bad eyes.
